Preventative care for patients
Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death word-wide being the cause of 1 in 4 deaths in England (www.gov.uk). It is estimated that cardiovascular disease results in healthcare and non-healthcare costs amounting to over £23 billion pounds per year in England. Hypertension is the leading risk factor for cardiovascular disease in England. In line with Public Health England’s aims to prevent cardiovascular diseases. Dr Sarah Westerbeek is working closely with WKPC on a Hypertension project.
