Hypertension Pilot

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death word-wide being the cause of 1 in 4 deaths in England (www.gov.uk). It is estimated that cardiovascular disease results in healthcare and non-healthcare costs amounting to over £23 billion pounds per year in England. Hypertension is the leading risk factor for cardiovascular disease in England. In line with Public Health England’s aims to prevent cardiovascular diseases. Dr Sarah Westerbeek is working closely with WKPC on a Hypertension project.

Clinical Pharmacist will be supporting patients at Mote and Wallis reviewing notes and inviting patients to get an up-to-date blood pressure check. This can be done by:

  1. Using a home blood pressure monitor
  2. Attending your GP surgery and using the blood pressure machine in reception
  3. Paydens Pharmacy at Loose Road, Maidstone ME15 9QD
  4. Outreach Hub
  5. Mediclinic Parkwood – 2-4 LONGSHAW ROAD, MAIDSTONE, ME15 9JD (*Before visiting, please call them and book a time you will be attending)
