Introduction

West Kent Primary Care (formerly West Kent Health) was formed in 2015 with the vision of strengthening local General Practice in West Kent and providing a united approach to managing and supporting the opportunities identified in the local area. West Kent Primary Care was established to act as an umbrella organisation for practices to deliver services which some practices as individual organisations would struggle to provide. The intention of West Kent Primary Care is to provide resilience to all practices in West Kent.

The PCNs and West Kent Primary Care will work collaboratively together at PCN level to ensure successful delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan in West Kent.

Specific PCN Support

In addition to the overall offer of support for 52 member practice , PCNs have already been working with West Kent Primary Care to provide them with a more specific/bespoke support service as the volume of work increases and intensifies with the evolving DES schemes.

The services are provided by a skilled West Kent Primary Care workforce who have the expertise to support PCNs to achieve their targets to successfully deliver the DES schemes. PCNs can select from the menu of services below:

3. Quality and Governance
4. Project Management Support
5. Recruitment
6. General Administration
7. Legal and Accountancy specialist advise
8. Negotiating contracts at scale across PCNs
9. Clinical director appraisal and development support

West Kent Primary Care will only charge for services at the point of delivery. West Kent Primary Care feel that PCNs should be confident that they are only purchasing services as they need them and remain in control of their expenditure.
